More pictures...

I found some more pictures - these are specifically of Kamo-shi, courtesy of the Kamo-shi Homepage. I think they're supposed to represent the four seasons. People in Japan are very proud of the fact that they have distinct seasons, and many cultural activities revolve around them.

It looks like a beautiful place, doesn't it? I can hardly wait to get there and start taking pictures of things myself...

Welcome!

Welcome to "Kristi in Japan"! I'll be using this blog to record my adventures over the next year, as I travel to Kamo City, Japan to teach English with the JET Program. I depart on July 23rd from SeaTac airport and will be spending a few days in Tokyo getting oriented before continuing on to discover my new home in Kamo City, which is located in Niigata prefecture. I will be teaching at several junior high schools in the area.

To whet your appetite, here are a few random pictures of Niigata which I found on the Internet:

More to come!
